The Crisis, Part One

Remember when some guy rear-ended us really hard last week?

I was changing Bear's diaper this afternoon, on the floor bending over him. When I sat back something very bad happened. Shooting pain in my lower back. It hurts to sit and to bend. I was able to lay flat for about 30 minutes when he napped. It didn't help and I was really stiff when I tried to get up. I can walk fine.

I'm not happy. I have a Big Important Meeting at work tomorrow. And I can't sit here and type either.

And, to top it off, tomorrow the mid-life crisis starts. I've been plotting Phase I of said Crisis since October and no pinched up back is stopping me from the pain that is my day tomorrow.

Stay tuned. If I'm brave enough and not too humiliated I'll post about it. Maybe even pictures.

Oh Darlin'-
My lower back was hurt for two weeks. Get ye on a heating pad 24/7! Get ye some pain meds! OK, not during the big meeting!

Good luck Babe!

Get thee to a doctor at once! I'm serious. Get it documented as soon as possible in case it turns into something serious.

Good lord, I just now read Fussypants comment. I sound like I'm imitating her. But really, I typed that first paragraph before I ever saw her comment. I swear! Great minds think alike and all that I guess.

Oh Amy, I'm so sorry honey!
You need to get to a doctor, get this documented and get you something to help you!!
Okay, I'm sorry for you and now I'm curious.
Hope you sleep and feel better tomorrow!

Yes, get to a doctor. Two reasons - you want to document any problems, and you don't want to mess with your back.

Ouch, back pain is the worst. I feel while roller blading a few years back and hurt my back and left shoulder. I didn't realize how badly I was hurt until nearly a week later when I woke and couldn't lift my arm above my head.

You planned your midlife crisis? Noo. Get out. You're crazy - woman.

As far as the back pain.

1. Go see a doctor, now. I use to be an adjuster. I know these things. Your auto insurance will pay probably up to $5k then subrogate the other carrier. The other carrier will owe you pain and suffering. You'll get a big fat whopper check to go shopping with – guilt free. You will want to share some with me.

2. You will get a WAY SUPER DEEP MASSAGE HOT PACK TREATMENT thing from a tall Nordic fella named Hans. In fact, you’ll get several of them. I got them from a tall Nordic chic named Gretel once. Gretel made me do things, okay? She rubbed it on me. I’ll leave it there.

3. You will get super legal recreational drugs for the back pain. You will want to share some with me.

4. The lump on your back shouldn’t be too noticeable until you’re let’s say - 60ish. Then you’ll kinda look like Igor and need a stroller.

Ugh, back pain is the worst. Take care of yourself, everything else can wait.

I hope you feel better soon. I guess the ol' midlife crisis will just have to wait.
