And now I give you: Grand Marnier Cranberries!
Not the best picture y'all, but these cranberries are two things: Fantastic and Easy. It takes about 2 minutes to get this ready to go in the oven. They look very "holiday festive" on your table and taste vastly more sophisticated than canned cranberries.
I got this recipe from Gourmet Magazine about 10 years ago and I've been making these ever since.
1 - 12 oz. bag of fresh cranberries
1 and 1/4 C. sugar
3 T. frozen orange juice, thawed
3 T. Grand Marnier
Heat oven to 325. Place cranberries in a glass dish and sprinkle with sugar and orange juice. Cover with foil and bake until juice forms and berries are soft - about 1 hour. (Stir once after 45 minutes.)
Uncover and stir in Grand Marnier. Cool and serve!
*I double the recipe for more than 6 people.
**Variation: When my mom makes them she adds, along with the liquor, fresh orange chunks and walnuts. Yum!
