Oh hello. We went away for New Year's and I didn't blog. I missed it though. I was here: The Queen visited us and we got to meet the King too, and both little Princes. I do not have photographic evidence of this, which makes for terrible blogging. See instead this artfully captured shot I call "Sand Pail in Repose". And it's companion piece "Unnamed Turtle". Where did you spend New Year's Eve? I've always felt it was a holiday for romance, dancing, champagne drinking at midnight, and it seems it should be cold when the new year dawns. At the beach, it was warm. There was no champagne, no dancing, and a lot of going to sleep before midnight. However, there is a certain romance about snuggling up at 11:00 p.m. and listening to the steady crash of waves on the shoreline - a reminder of the pull of the moon and the certainty of certain things - while your family sleeps safe around you. And waking to sunshine and water... The boys had a very good beginning to the new year.

Here's to one more circle around the sun.*
Happy New Year *scroll down to the CD Million Year Mind and click on song #11. It's just a snippet of the song I'm referencing but this album is totally amazing.

I spent New years eve freezing my ass off and burning paper to keep warm. *lol* ToM is right, it IS freezing up here!

I'm envious that you spent it somewhere warm. And got to meet a FABULOUS blogger to boot!

Hope your New Year is awesome Amy. I'm so glad to have gotten to know you this year and grateful for the friendship you've extended to me. It means a great deal to me.

Here's to wishing you all the best in the new year.

Awesome pictures, Amy!

You forgot to mention the shells. I was so in awe of the shells. Seriously never seen them like that.

(it doesn't take much to impress the simple-minded, huh?)

So great to see you!

Thanks for the props on the photos, but the pail and the turtle were shot because I was fooling around trying to figure out why the focus on my camera isn't working right. Still haven't figured it out -- very frustrating!
