Spidy

Y'all, this spider is as big as a housecat. I kid you not the thing is GIANT. It waved at me, but menancingly, as if to say, "back off human or I will take you down."

I might be making that part up about the menacing wave, but it is large and very dangerous looking and lives in a shrub between Shark's school and the church. I wish I could find out what kind of spider it is, I've never seen one like it. (If you know about spiders please take a guess- it's very bright yellow and black, like a bee. It's web is giant as well (that's how I found it), and in a straight line down the center of the web the spider spins a thick seam in a zig zag pattern -probably 4-5 inches long. I've never seen a spider web with a seam. What is this thing?)

Oh, it's favorite picture day, not zoology quiz day. Sorry!

Shark Ice Skating

I taught Shark Boy how to ice skate this weekend!

Bear pitching baseball

Here is Bear pondering his next pitch in our backyard baseball game. (Fyi, all his pitches go directly to the left of his body. It's a brilliant strategy as no one can hit a thing he throws at them. This kid is a genius.)

The Big Red Car

The Wiggles came to Nashville and thanks to Sprout, PBS television's preschool channel, we had great seats.

Wags the Dog

Wags the Dog - our favorite.

Bear at the Wiggles

Honey Bear was fascinated. The whole time was a jaw dropping "Oh my goodness look at that...." for him. (I know he looks terrified, but he just has a serious face when he's concentrating.) Already today he's saying, "Want go back to that show!"

I would have to change churches and schools if I encountered that giant spider. Egads!

So glad the kids loved the show!

I know EXACTLY the kind of spider you saw. No, I don't have a name for it, but my mom always called them 'writing spiders' and swore they were harmless to us.

Amo - One word that did not spring to mind as I looked at this spider is "harmless."

Bear is so cute!
But... omg... the Wiggles? I kid you not--I love them. My boy does too, but my gosh, if they toured around here I'd be in the front row. I'm weird.

Love the photos!

I can't remember the last time I was on skates!

I'm glad you had such a good time at the Wiggles show. I took Fiona to see Hi-5 and we had 2nd row seats, but unfortunately, she didn't know who they were then.

I think it is a type of banana spider. I just looked at photos of spiders online and I am on my knees in fetal position at the moment.

What's with all the spider photos this week? Creepy!

You can see the awe and amazement in your little guy's face in that last shot.
