How To Get Boys Interested In Cooking

Simple.

IMG_2105

Let them do something gross.

For example, show them the old fashioned way to separate the white from the yolk of an egg.

Tell them to imagine it's an eyeball covered in mucus.

Or monster snot.

Boys like that type of thing.

There are other ways too. Octopus cakes, football aprons, sports cookies.

But handling something slimy beats all.

Especially when they get to eat the results.

I am gonna have to do that sometime. Oh, I was dying to make those rainbow cupcakes for St. Patty's day--Greg was out of town which means extra tired Mama!!

It would be very upsetting if one day the truth was revealed and it turned out that egg yolk was indeed monster snot.

Boys are so different than girls...no selling involved to get Miss Peach in the kitchen. End result looks good;P

LOVE THIS! And gorgeous photos, as well.

My own version of this is "If you want a kid to do chores willingly, find a way to add water to the chore." Even a small spray bottle will do. :-)

that post made me smile.

We have an adorable picture of Golden Boy wearing an apron. Unfortunately, Tightwad took it to the hunting camp and posted it on the wall.

yeah.
