Morning Commute

I see this on the way to my office every weekday morning.

Nashville sign

It's so Nashville, with the country music all mixed up in there with Vanderbilt and the art museum.

Downtown Nashville

Heading toward downtown on the first day of 2010 that I wasn't bundled up in a coat. (JOY)

I also saw these birds on my way to work, strung across I-40 and looking so much like a musical staff I wondered what it would sound like if you played those notes.

(I told you my commute makes me insane.)

Also! Dana won the PBS Sprout DVD, Rachel and In the Trenches won copies of Fantastic Mr. Fox, and Jennifer won Fantastic Mr. Fox AND Amelia. Congratulations to all, and thank you random.org because my kids usually pull names out of hats but they were sleeping.

Do you drive past anything interesting each day?

Looks like a beautiful city, love the birds they really do look like sheet music. Sorry your commute sucks!

I could be wrong but I reckon those birds are spelling out The Entertainer.

i wish!! i work from home. so about the only interesting thing i see are my three weiner dogs that i share my workspace with.
something i wish i didn't see (no offense, hubs) but i wish i didn't see the hubster on my way to work. he has infiltrated the home office.
not only do we work together (and have for over 20 years) and live together, but now we live AND work together.
i think i need to go to target, now, mmmmkay?

I take Old Hickory Blvd. every morning to Brentwood and I almost always seen wild turkeys on the golf course. I kind of like them. :)

I love that you live in Music City and saw music in electrical wires and birds. :)

I have a short commute in the morning, and because I'm ALWAYS running late, I haven't really appreciated my drive. I'm going to pay attention tomorrow morning!

2 days a week, I have the beautiful Smoky Mountains ahead of me. The other 3 I have a little bit of a view of the mountains, but not as much. I do have this amazing view all days, but I'm afraid to stop and take a picture of it because it's on a well traveled highway! It's really amazing when there is snow on the mtns. So glad I moved home!

I drive over the Chattahoochee River in GA each day (it means "River of Painted Rocks), which starts in No. GA and ends in FL.

I take 8th Ave/Franklin Road almost all the way to the office. I have to check in on all the homeless newspaper sales folks on my way in; I didn't see any today. Maybe it was because it was raining...

Cool post. I'm coming back after seeing this earlier, and I've been thinking about your birds all day. Were you surprised that you were able to get such good shots from your car? Maybe it's just me who assumed until I tried it recently that I wouldn't get a clear picture because of the windshield.

Yay for Mr. Fox! And yes, I agree, commuting does make one lose one's mind.
