Over the Rainbow

Always take your camera with you - everyone told me.

Ta-da! Looky what I pulled over and snapped. It wasn't the biggest one I've ever seen, but it was by far the brightest, every color glowing bright. And only days before St. Patrick's Day. I was tempted to search for the pot o' gold.

Last year my friend evenshine posted part of the poem from St. Patrick's breastplate. I'm stealing that idea and putting it here too because I love it so.

I bind unto myself today
The virtues of the starlit heaven,
The glorious sun’s life-giving ray,
The whiteness of the moon at even,
The flashing of the lightning free,
The whirling wind’s tempestuous shocks,
The stable earth, the deep salt sea,
Around the old eternal rocks.

I bind unto myself today
The power of God to hold and lead,
His eye to watch, His might to stay,
His ear to hearken to my need.
The wisdom of my God to teach,
His hand to guide, his shield to ward,
The word of God to give me speech,
His heavenly host to be my guard.

I have taken a couple of days off to spend with Shark Boy, who is on Spring Break this week. We are going to make green eggs and ham and rainbow cupcakes, download some Irish jigs, and take a hike with a picnic lunch. Just me and my handsome son.

I'm going to say a special prayer today for my daughter, who has an Irish Gaelic name that means a dream or a vision, and it is also a type of Irish poetry. May her Irish eyes be smilin'!

Ye Olde Irish Wish
May the raindrops fall lightly on your brow
May the soft winds freshen your spirit
May the sunshine brighten your heart
May the burdens of the day rest lightly upon you
And may God enfold you in the mantle of His love.

Happy Saint Patrick's Day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!
My husband was in B'wood and saw that very same rainbow. He actually said that there were 2. At first, he didn't know why so many people were pulled over, standing our looking and then he saw it!!
Amazing!!
Oh, have fun with Shark Boy!
