Sly Foxes and Mysterious Disappearances

This is what happens when someone tries to catch up on blog reading and heat soup at the same time.

Blogging is a fire hazard. Just so you know. Mr. P sent me a Pajamagram for Valentine's Day (soft pink fuzzy ones!) and I've not taken them off much since then. I want to wear them until the Spring thaw, which is coming right? I'm beginning to wonder. This weather is good for nothing but curling up with a good book or five and a cup of tea with honey. Or maybe a movie, and I happen to be giving away several good ones.

Fantastic Mr. Fox is pretty fantastic. The boys (ages 3 and 7) loved it. I thought it was quirky and charming. The characters have a flat, clipped speech that is odd (George Clooney is great at it) but it suits the whole odd story. It's like an adult movie that kids happen to also enjoy, instead of the other way around. It is rated PG and one of the farmers smokes, which I could live without but which is probably in the book. But it is funny and different and unpredictable. I have THREE to give away! I also have a copy of Amelia, based on the story of Amelia Earhart. I knew how the story would end, but I didn't know a lot of the details of her life or how she disappeared, so I found it interesting. The movie is gorgeous in terms of the styling, and Swank does an excellent job. Mr. P and I watched it and thought it was well done.

Amelia is rated PG. To win a DVD just leave a comment. I'd love to know what you think of these movies if you've seen them. Three commenters will be chosen at random. Two will win a copy of Fantastic Mr. Fox, and the third will win both Amelia and Fantastic Mr. Fox. (To get you through the next cold weekend!) And here's an extra - activity pages for the kiddies for Fantastic Mr. Fox. (If you have trouble saving these to your computer let me know and I'll email them to you.)

Contest will end on Tuesday, March 9th at midnight. Thanks to the lovely people at Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment for sending me review copies and providing home entertainment for 3 lucky readers.

Edited to add: I have a post up at Blissfully Domestic about communication and sharing and not wanting to do the ugly cry in front of your husband. Check it out along with the other awesomeness over there!

I'm glad your fire hazard didn't turn into an actual fire...

I love the pajamagram! What gift is more perfect than PJs?

Basically there is a sinister plot to thwart mankind by the soup lords.

Every time I, you, anyone, thinks "while the soup is heating I'll just..." the soup heats at a phenomenal speed and then causes a mess.

OH, I always boil over my soup while blogging!
I love movies too. Cash just got the new Veggie Tales movie and hasn't stopped watching it. I feel a little guilty letting him watch it but figure it won't be long and we will be outside all the time!

We could sure use a new movie in our house. The boys gave Daddy-O the Star Wars trilogy on DVD for his birthday so they don't have to watch the VHS version anymore. I'm a little overdone on the Star Wars movies right now.

Loved the pink pajamas! You looked fabulous at The Princess's party.

While it's always fun to win things, well, most things, I plan on adding both of these to my Netflix queue just in case...

Thanks for the recommendations!

I hate it when that happens!

At least you have an easy clean stove top.

My stove looked like that before I gave up my iPhone for social media purposes for Lent. So I guess you could say that Jesus himself is saving my home from fire.

I've heard great things about that Fox movie.

I've heard tremendous things about The Fantastic Mr. Fox. And it's got George Clooney, which...well, makes it better.

I so want Mr. Fox! My younger bro took the boyz to the movie to see it and said all 3 of them were MESMERIZED for the entire duration. It would make a great bribery tool. Errr...I mean gift for my 3 preshus prodigy.
